Book Week Celebrations at TLC

10 May 2017

P.A.L.L.

On Monday May 22, our three Prep classes will be visiting the North Lakes library as part of our P.A.L.L. (Preps at the Local Library) program. The idea of the program is to encourage young children and their families to become members of the library. The obvious benefits of being a member include borrowing lots of books and other items including games and DVD’s for FREE and of course, to nurture a love of reading. The library offers lots of fabulous services including very entertaining and FREE holiday programs. As well as story time and activities for babies and toddlers, there are other interesting and useful programs for children, teenagers and adults.

Even if you are not a resident of North Lakes, membership gives you the right to borrow from any of the Moreton Bay libraries. There are libraries at Burpengary, Caboolture, Deception Bay, Kallangur, Narangba, Redcliffe, Strathpine and further afield. There is also a mobile library. There is more information on the website

National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday May 24 at 11:00 am students in the Primary School will be involved in National Simultaneous Storytime. This year the story is “The cow tripped over the moon”. We’ll be meeting in the Hall to share this funny story.

In 2016 over 520,000 children at over 3,500 locations across Australia took part in N.S.S. reading the book “I Got This Hat”.
