Our world is in a constant state of change and none more so than the world of technology. The Lakes College is delivering an approach to curriculum that is explicitly designed to take advantage of latest technological developments and to prepare our students to adapt and changes as new technologies emerge. While our strong pedagogical framework can be seen as the driver for our curriculum our measured use of technology is the accelerator.
Teachers utilise our 1-to-1 laptop program with active pen devices (Years 5-12), Promethean and TouchBoard Interactive Panels with wireless projecting, student Learning Management System (SEQTA), shared iPads and other services to guarantee the best learning outcomes for our students.
The current technologies we are using in our classrooms means we are seeing high levels of student engagement and teachers have the ability to deliver much broader approaches to differentiated learning. The implicit and explicit use of technology occurs in the classroom throughout the College from Prep to Year 12. Constant updates and research into latest developments in ICT are being carried out to ensure the students and staff at The Lakes College are implementing best practice in this important area.
